Another great idea from Skippy...

Think: what else can I do to ruin the USA?

Does Obama sit around thinking of how he can destroy our country even more? That's a rhetorical question. Now comes another brilliant idea from this administration:

Now Obama Wants to Force Farmers to Get Commercial Drivers Licenses

Via Gateway Pundit: A new rule being proposed by the federal Department of Transportation would require farmers to get commercial drivers licenses.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration wants to adopt standards that would reclassify all farm vehicles and implements as Commercial Motor Vehicles, officials said. Likewise, the proposal, if adopted, would require all farmers and everyone on the farm who operates any of the equipment to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL), they added.

The proposed rule change would mean that anyone who drives a tractor or operates any piece of motorized farming equipment would be required to pass the same tests and complete the same detailed forms and logs required of semi-tractor trailer drivers.

Drivers would keep logs of information including hours worked and miles traveled. Vehicles would be required to display DOT numbers. A CDL in Virginia costs $64 for eight years, or $8 per year, not including the cost of an instructional class and the written test.

If the DOT reclassifies farm vehicles and implements as commercial vehicles, the federal government will have regulatory control over the nation's farm workers, estimated at over 800,000, by requiring them to have commercial drivers licenses.

That possibility worries county farmers and others in Halifax County interested in agriculture. "I have a CDL, but very few farmers have one," said Nathalie farmer Ronnie Waller. "This is just another bureaucratic hurdle for the farmer. It's hard enough fighting Mother Nature, insects and all…now we have to fight the federal government," he added. "We're getting more rammed down our throats, and I could see repercussions across the nation. This move is another inane gesture in my opinion," Waller concluded.

More control of people and more taxes.  And you know they eventually will want to control their emissions as well.  We know one thing for sure about Skippy, if an idea comes out of this administration, it's going to be bad for our country.

With age comes wisdom.

A guy is 75 years old and loves to fish.

He was sitting in his boat the other day when he heard a voice say,
'Pick me up.'
He looked around and couldn't see anyone.
He thought he was dreaming when he heard the voice say again,
'Pick me up.'
He looked in the water and there, floating on the top, was a frog.
The man said, 'Are you talking to me?'

The frog said, 'Yes, I'm talking to you.'
'Pick me up then kiss me and I'll turn into the most beautiful woman you have ever seen.
I'll make sure that all your friends are envious and jealous because I will be your bride!'
The man looked at the frog for a short time, reached over, picked it up carefully, and placed it in his pocket.
The frog said, 'What, are you nuts? Didn't you hear what I said? I said kiss me and I will be your beautiful bride.'

He opened his pocket, looked at the frog and said,
'Nah, at my age I'd rather have a talking frog.'

Zero has always been a clown…a dangerous clown, but still a clown!

I HOPE YOU WILL ALL PARTICIPATE AND DO YOUR PART

The President ordered the cabinet to cut $100 million from the $3.5 trillion federal budget.

I'm so impressed by this sacrifice that I have decided to do the same thing with my personal budget. I spend about $2000 a month on groceries, household expenses, medicine, utilities, etc, but it's time to get out the budget cutting axe, go through my expenses, and cut back.

I'm going to cut my spending at exactly the same ratio, 1/35,000 of my total Budget. After doing the math, it looks like instead of spending $2000 a month; I'm going to have to cut that number by - -
six cents. Yes, I'm going to have to get by with $1999.94, but that's what sacrifice is all about. I'll just have to do without some things, that are, frankly, luxuries.

(Did the president actually think no one would do the math? Please send this to everyone on your list so people understand what a load of crap this is --as if they didn't already know)

John Bolton? I Hope He Runs!

On Deck: Why I May Run for President

08/08/2011

In 16 months, Americans will again go to the polls and vote for the person they believe can best lead our country.  Beyond question, Obama's economic policies have failed to renew the economy and are now a principal reason the recovery is stalled.  His national security policies are even more dangerous.  The American dream is under assault, and Obama is not fighting back. We need a real President in the Oval Office, someone who knows instinctively and by experience that, as Adam Smith said, "the first duty of the sovereign" is to protect and promote American sovereignty and national security.  Otherwise, economic prosperity will count for little.

To date, in my view, no Republican candidate has persuasively argued that our economic recovery and long-term prosperity are completely intertwined with a strong national security posture.  If no one else is prepared to make that case, I will.    Full Story Here

This is an excerpt of a longer article.  He was a tough negotiator as our Ambassador to the United Nations.  I'd love to see him do more straight talking to the UN as president.  The Agenda 21 Rio Conference is coming up in June of 2012.  His candidacy could really turn up the heat.  ~LTG

Who Says Liberals Want Government Out of the Bedroom?
By Anthony Gregory

Nothing is off limits anymore. Nothing. Not as far as politicians are concerned. Democratic State Senator Kevin De Leon wants California to mandate fitted sheets in the state's hotels, and forbid flat sheets.

According to the bill's opponent Lynn Mohrfeld, president and CEO, California Hotel & Lodging Association, "SB 432 would cost the hotel and lodging industry $30-$50 million to replace sheets and buy the appropriate laundry equipment. On top of that, it would cost millions more in frivolous lawsuits -- costs that will be passed on to hotel customers. This is nothing more than a transparent ploy to provide workers comp attorneys and trial lawyers a new avenue to file frivolous lawsuits."

There are plenty of arguments against this ludicrous proposal. But it frustrates me that arguments have to be made. A hotel should have whatever sheets it wants, period, and if the customers or employees resent the decision for any reason, they shouldn't patronize or work there. Is this really difficult for people to understand?

This is only to be expected, I suppose, in a society where nothing is private any more. Property owners, certainly those who own "commercial property," haven't had actual property rights for a very long time. There is nothing fundamentally different between SB 432 and many other intrusions we have seen for years. To forbid a bar owner, for example, from allowing smoking (or any other behavior) on his own property, all because it poses a potential risk to the employees there, relies on the exact same logic. Bed sheets are just the latest target for regulation by the officious planners in Sacramento.

In a free society, hotels could allow or disallow smoking of cigarettes (or other substances), mandate or prohibit whatever sheets they wanted, set the terms of employment and patronize, and do pretty much anything else short of prohibiting their customers and workers from freely leaving their premises whenever they wanted. There would be norms established by social convention, as patrons would tend to favor certain policies over others. But it would ultimately be up to the owners to decide.

Of course, in a free society, workers would also have much more economic opportunity while at the same time having much less sense of entitlement. Maybe this "problem" of the difficulty of changing flat bed sheets wouldn't exist in such a world. But if it did, a proposal to address the difficulty through government mandates would not get very far. I our own reality, I expect it to fail in the state senate. The fact it's a controversy at all, however, is a testament to how far we've slid away from the principles of liberty, free enterprise, and personal responsibility. So is the fact that this politician wasn't simply laughed out of the room for suggesting such a law.

SARAH PALIN COULD DECIDE TO RUN IN SEPTEMBER

Posted: 12 Aug 2011 04:52 PM PDT

Obama never feels our  PAIN

Obama IS our PAIN -

Solution is our PALIN

Sarah Palin: I will decide by Sept whether to run (VIDEO)

Des Moines, Iowa -- Sarah Palin dropped by the Iowa State Fair Friday -- ahem, coincidentally, on the day that most of the other DECLARED candidates were speaking -- to say that....drumroll....she hasn't decided yet whether to run for President.

But she says she will decide by September. "Practically speaking," Palin said Friday just outside the hog barn, "it has to be."

"I don't want to be seen as or perceived as stringing people along. Asking supporters 'Oh, don't jump in there on somebody else's bandwagon because I may jump in. So hold off a little bit.' That's not fair to them after another month or two," Palin said as she toured the fairgrounds with her husband, Todd...and nine million reporters.

There's still time to jump in she said. Besides, she said, she'd be running a "very" grassroots campaign and wouldn't be hiring anybody as campaign operatives from inside the Washington bubble.

She isn't sticking around for Saturday's Ames Straw Poll. "Don't want to step on anyone's toes," she said. "So we'll be out of here."

She also said she was "thankful" that Gov. Rick Perry is entering the race, but that won't affect her decision. But Perry's decision to run "surprised" her.

"I was quite sure he wasn't going to run because he was quite adamant about four months ago," Palin said. "So it surprised me."

"Evidently he evolved in his thinking," Palin said.

Let's go to the Shaky Hand here, which provides a unique perspective on Gov. Palin -- the back of her head. We post it because we know there is an unquenchable thirst for all thingss Palin...no matter how lame the videocamera work is.

So if she's not sticking here for the straw poll and not running for president and not stumping for anybody else, then why would she come to the Iowa at the EXACT SAME TIME as the straw poll.

She said she was here as "an invited guest" and her One Nation bus tour is always checking out "historic sites"...like the Iowa State Fair. "But," she added "at the same time getting to learn a lot more about what's important to Iowa."

IRANIAN YOUNGSTER CREATES NATIONAL DILEMMA - I WASH AFTER PEE-PEE!

Posted: 11 Aug 2011 07:43 PM PDT

The Little Boy Who Spoke The Truth On Iran's State TV

His first name is Farnood. He looks about 5 years old. No one knows his last name. But no matter, as he's now being referred to as "Farnood the Truthful" -- and he has turned into an online phenomenon.

During a children's show recently aired live on Iran's state television, a group of young participants were asked what kind of activities they perform on their own.

Little Farnood was especially eager to answer the question. "When I go to the bathroom, I wash my pee-pee on my own," he said.

"What do you do?! You turn on the washing machine yourself?

No, no, no," said the presenter, trying to shift the conversation. Clearly taken by surprise by the honest and taboo-breaking answer, she took a few telling steps back from Farnood.

Iranian state television is heavily censored of all issues considered sensitive.

A video of the incident posted on YouTube became an instant hit in Iranian cyberspace and Farnood has become an online hero for speaking the truth. His fans say he stood up to the presenter, who can be seen as the symbol of state censorship.

A Facebook page, "Farnood the Truthful," launched to celebrate the little taboo-breaker, has already attracted more than 23,000 fans and counting.

Little Farnood has quickly provided Iranians who are not supportive of the regime with an opportunity to voice their frustrations -- and have a good laugh.

"On the one hand there is an honest little boy. On the other, an ugly woman who lies. They face each other and that is the reality of the Iranian nation. Honesty against lies. Farnood has become popular among Iranians because of his truthfulness," a woman posted on the Facebook page.

Amid similar comments, the page has been also flooded with distasteful jokes.
Many also posted comments poking fun at Iranian officials.

One Farnood fan sarcastically wrote: "Iran's intelligence minister said the fact that Farnood washes his pee-pee himself is one of the main factors of the [postelection unrest]. There are documents that prove Farnood received money from Mossad and CIA to do so."

Such accusations are often brought against dissenting activists and intellectuals in the Islamic republic.

There are also some who appeared upset by the hype surrounding Farnood.

"The people of Syria are standing up against tanks and bullets to achieve democracy. We're making fun of ourselves. Farnood is one of us. If the 20,000 fans of this page would write about the repression, things would have been different in our country," posted one user.

Another reacted by saying that what is being made fun of are "the censorship, lies, and hypocrisy of [those in power]."

Farnood has also inspired prominent cartoonist Mana Neyestani. In one of his latest cartoons a little boy wearing a green T-shirt (the color of the opposition movement) asks a member of the security forces,

"Who's next after [former Egyptian President Hosni] Mubarak?"

"You turn on the washing machine yourself?

No, no, no!" says the security guard, who is visibly uncomfortable by the implications of the question.
