Who is Barack Obama?

By Mondo Frazier

There are so many things the public does not know about the man who sits in the White House. Who is Barack Obama? In my search to find out the answers I embarked on a journey that has lasted three years and counting -- and nearly made my head explode.

As usual, when Obama is the subject, Americans can't count on the progressives in the Corporate Mainstream Media (CMM) for much help. So, what's one to do? The foreign press proved helpful. Therefore, gleaned from the foreign press: a few stories which didn't rate any coverage from the U.S. CMM.

In 2005, then-Senator Barack Obama went on a mission to Russia with Senator Richard Lugar (R-IN). The newly-minted U.S. senator was invited to be part of a Russian fact-finding tour that inspected a nuclear weapons site in Perm, Siberia. The base Lugar and Obama visited was where mobile launch missiles were being destroyed under the Cooperative Threat Reduction program (CTR), which also went by the name of the Nunn-Lugar program.

What happened next -- after the inspections were over -- was at the time reported by several foreign news sources but was never reported in the USA by the CMM. The Russians detained Obama and Lugar for three hours at the airport, demanding to examine both Obama's and Lugar's passports and search their plane. Some sources reported that the Russians accused Barack Obama of being a spy.

But wait -- there's more!

According to an Italian source, the Russians did not accuse Obama of being an American spy; they accused him of being a spy for the British! The report went on to say that the incident ended up involving the White House, the U.S. State Department, and military officials, along with their counterparts in Moscow.

Strangely enough, an official report from Lugar's office about the trip never mentioned the incident. Neither did Barack Obama in 2008 when he was desperate to exhibit some foreign policy chops.

One other oddity: in the fall of 2008, Obama admitted on his Fightthesmears.com site that he had held dual citizenship with both the United States and Great Britain (the site explained that this was due to Barack Obama, Sr. being a foreign national) until 1982. Did the Russians know something about Obama's citizenship in 2005 that ordinary Americans don't know in 2011?

Another story no one has seen fit to ask about: Obama's Most Excellent Pakistani Adventure.

In the summer of 1981, 20-year-old Barack Obama embarked on a two-week trip to Pakistan. At least what little reporting that has been done claimed the length of the trip was two weeks. The only proof that the trip didn't turn into a longer stay is that we (supposedly) have records which show that Barack Obama enrolled at Columbia University later that same summer. Of course, the public hasn't seen those records, but that's what we've been told. Anyone in doubt will be directed to Obama's autobiography, Dreams from My Father.

Obama clearly gave the impression in DFMF that he was this penniless, somewhat confused young man, in search of an identity. Obama makes sure readers don't miss the point by writing that he was forced to wear "thrift store clothing" during this time. Yet he somehow managed to find the cash to finance a two-week trip to Pakistan.

Which he never wrote about. Which in itself is odd: here's a guy who wrote two autobiographies that explored events real, imagined, and totally fictional that supposedly forged the modern-day Barack Obama from humble beginnings. That's according to the Obama NarrativeTM -- which gets most of its facts from Dreams from My Father.

Not only did a poor, nearly destitute Obama manage to afford the trip to Pakistan, but once there he somehow financed two weeks in the Lahore Hilton International. In addition, Obama was introduced to the future prime minister and president of Pakistan -- and went bird-hunting with him. Which the prime minister mentioned in the Pakistani press in 2008. There's so much more, including one question the CMM never asked Obama: who arranged all of this? For a 20-year-old nobody.

Another curious piece to the queer Obama puzzle is the connection -- which hasn't been made in the CMM (attention, Fox News!) -- between illegal foreign contributions to the Obama campaign and subsequent billions in Stimulus money to foreign companies and banks. During and after the 2008 election, accusations of illegal foreign contributions -- which flowed into the Obama campaign when credit card safeguards were disabled on the campaign's website -- were documented in the conservative press and elsewhere.

Who were these mysterious donors, and in what countries did they live? Unfortunately, due to the chicanery of Team Obama, we may never know. Fast-forward to 2009. Obama's multi-billion-dollar Stimulus is rushed through Congress, and billions of dollars in Stimulus money are doled out to foreign companies and banks. Finland, China, Brazil, and India are just a few of the beneficiaries of Americans' hard-earned tax dollars. Might these have been payoffs for those shady, unknown donations?

Bill Clinton was the first president to benefit from a foreign spoils system, but Barack Obama has made Clinton look like an amateur.

One more coincidence in shady fundraising. The lady involved with Obama's fundraising in the Caribbean? None other than Vera Baker, who packed up and hurried left the country after the National Enquirer started exploring a possible tryst between her and Obama in a Washington hotel.

Barack Obama can only hope that ObamaCare covers "extreme stress" -- because whoever on his staff is responsible for keeping track of all of the weird stuff in the president's life is definitely a candidate for burnout.

One final item involves that most elusive of documents: Obama's long-lost long-form birth certificate.

A Chicago-area activist, Sherman Skolnick, writing for a radio show/website (now defunct) by the name of Cloak and Dagger uncorked this headline on his readers. It referred to another story he'd written in 2005 -- three years before anyone in the media coined the term "birther" to tamp down curiosity about our 44th president's past. (All-caps headline in the original story.)

CLOAK'S EXCLUSIVE AUGUST 2005 STORY EXPOSING OBAMA'S KENYAN BIRTHPLACE FORCES OBAMA TO SANITIZE HIS PASSPORT FILE.

Just another day in the life of anyone attempting to pierce the shroud of mystery that surrounds our 44th president. The final result is the publication of The Secret Life of Barack Hussein Obama.

More Than 150,000 Mexican Cargo Trucks Await U.S. Permits

  http://www.laht.com/article.asp?Arti...tegoryId=14091

MEXICO CITY - Eleven Mexican trucking companies hope to join a
pilot program that could see more than 150,000 vehicles delivering
products to destinations deep inside the United States by year’s
end, the vice president of the Canacar transport association said.

Eight of the 11 firms have already submitted applications and are
awaiting a response from the U.S. Transportation Department, Luis
 Moreno said.

It was only last Friday that a Mexican long-haul truck became the
first to deliver a shipment to the U.S. interior under the revived
 pilot program.

Nearly two decades after the North American Free Trade Agreement
linking the United States, Mexico and Canada came into force in 1994,
a Mexican trucking company began shipping cargo beyond a buffer zone
 near the border.

“There are eight or nine companies enrolled (in the program), more
don’t yet have permission from the United States to enter,† Moreno
 told reporters.

Each firm accepted into the pilot program must undergo an 18-month
probationary period to become eligible for a permanent U.S. operating
 license, he said.

By the end of 2011, Moreno expects that some 150,000 Mexican trucks
will be authorized to travel beyond the narrow border strip.

Around 70 percent of the $400 billion in goods that pass between
Mexico and the United States every year are transported by truck.

Before the renewal of the pilot program, Mexican trucks were not
allowed beyond a 25-mile buffer zone where their cargo was typically
transferred to U.S. tractor trailers, a process criticized as
 inefficient and expensive.

The pilot program was launched in 2007, but later canceled due to
opposition from Democratic lawmakers in Congress.

The Mexican government retaliated by imposing $2.3 billion in
 tariffs on U.S. imported goods.

The tariffs were lifted last Friday, but the Mexican government said
they could be reinstated if the program’s U.S. critics succeed in
 blocking it again.

Under NAFTA, Mexican trucks were to have had access to U.S. border
states by 1995 and all U.S. highways by 2000, but opposition from the
Teamsters union stymied the implementation of that provision.

Canadian trucks operate in the United States without restriction.

No one wants a lawyer tenant

Yes, it lacks a comparison to a list of applicants for the grants so a
proper comparison can be made. If only Jewish/religious Orgs. asked
for money then it is nothing to worry about... if there were a like
number of Christian/other
Orgs that were turned down only then would you have a point.

As a realtor I can tell you that one of the many amusing things people do when they move to DC is try to find something with off street parking so they can keep their car registered in another state.  You cannot park on a DC street for over 30 days with out of state plates.  The temporary parking pass they issue is only good for 30 days and you can't keep re-applying for a new one claiming to have just moved here as you could before it was all on computer.

I know lots of people who live in DC, and least a certain number of days per year, but register cars in Virginia, Delaware, Alaska or some other state where they own property, or originally had their license and have found a way to keep renewing, so they can pay lower state taxes.

Of course renting a garage spot in downtown DC is 200 a month and buying something with a parking spot easily adds 30,000 to the price, if not 70,000

The other fun things people moving here do is assume that there dogs and cats, especially large dogs, will be welcome.  Many buildings don't allow you to have one, even condos where you are the owner

Then there are all the gay people who move to DC and ask the realtor if there are any gay people in the building or on the block.  Because sexual orientation is a protected class, it is illegal for realtors to discuss who is what and tell what they know.  In Virginia where it is not a protected class, the realtor can actually steer you to a gayer neighborhood

Anything That's Peaceful Means Anything That's Peaceful
    by Laurence M. Vance, October 31, 2011

Leonard Read (1898–1983), opponent of Roosevelt's New Deal and founder of the Foundation for Economic Education, was one of the twentieth century's great champions of individual liberty, private property, the free market, and limited government. He counted among his friends and advisors such luminaries as Ludwig von Mises and Henry Hazlitt. Although he authored numerous collections of essays, Read's most enduring work has arguably been the 1964 book Anything That's Peaceful.

Read's one simple rule for society was that it should permit anything that's peaceful. Not only because the costs associated with stopping peaceful activity always outweigh the benefits, but also because it is immoral for individuals or government to prohibit anything but fraud and violence.

According to Read, the government should be strictly limited to "juridical and policing functions." The role of government is simply to "keep the peace." Explains Read, "Keeping the peace means no more than prohibiting persons from unpeaceful actions." Everything else should be left "to the free, unfettered market." When a government goes beyond this and prohibits peaceful actions, "such prohibitions themselves are, prima facie, unpeaceful."

Many people who claim to agree with Read and say they are for liberty, property, free markets, and limited government believe nothing of the kind. Those who call themselves conservatives may rail against socialism, liberalism, and government intervention, but they stop short of wholeheartedly embracing the freedom philosophy. Those who call themselves liberals may pride themselves on their commitment to tolerance and civil liberties, but they likewise reject real freedom. Both groups ultimately show by their actions that they are statists at heart. Just look, for example, at the wide bipartisan support for the war on drugs.

Read believed that "how much of a statist a person is can be judged by how far he would go in prohibiting peaceful actions." He maintained that "the difference between the socialist and the student of liberty is a difference of opinion as to what others should be prohibited from doing." This difference of opinion "highlights the essential difference between the collectivists – socialists, statists, interventionists, mercantilists, disturbers of the peace – and those of the peaceful, libertarian faith."

In my state of Florida, State Representative Ritch Workman, a Republican from the city of Melbourne, has filed a bill (4063) to make dwarf tossing in Florida legal once again. This bizarre competition, which once took place in Florida bars, consisted of bar patrons seeing how far they could throw dwarfs decked in protective gear. The practice was outlawed by the Florida legislature in 1989, when a law was passed that punished bars with $1,000 fines and the suspension or revoking of their liquor licenses if they sponsored a dwarf-tossing event.

Rep. Workman, who believes dwarf tossing to be "repulsive and stupid," nevertheless told the Palm Beach Post that he was on a quest to "seek and destroy unnecessary burdens on the freedom and liberties of people." "This is an example of Big Brother government," said Workman, who also focused on economic freedom: "All that it does is prevent some dwarfs from getting jobs they would be happy to get. In this economy, or any economy, why would we want to prevent people from getting gainful employment?" The bottom line, according to Workman, is that "it's none of the state's business if somebody wants to do this."

A statement released by the Little People of America, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocacy and support for individuals with dwarfism, condemned the Florida bill because the practice of dwarf throwing is "undoubtedly unsafe and subjects the individual being tossed to serious medical harms. Even with padded gear on, dwarf tossing exposes the individual to permanent injuries to the spinal column or even death." "Far from participants, dwarf tossing treats people of short stature as a piece of equipment and encourages the general attitude that people with dwarfism are objects," said Gary Arnold, President of Little People of America. Leah Smith, the Vice President of Public Relations for Little People of America, added that "rather than limit the liberties of any citizen, the ban protects the health and welfare of the community."

Now, to some people, and perhaps even to most people, dwarf tossing may be repulsive; it may be stupid; it may be juvenile; it may be degrading to all little people; it may be unsafe, it may be dangerous; it may even be deadly. But -- as long as it is practiced by adults on private property, is voluntarily undertaken by the dwarf, the bar owner, and the contestants, and is peaceful -- there is no legitimate reason for government at any level to prohibit the practice. Rep. Workman is right: "It's none of the state's business if somebody wants to do this."

When Leonard Read wrote that society should permit anything that's peaceful, he meant anything that's peaceful. In a free society, that includes boxing, professional wrestling, mixed-martial-arts cage fighting, violent movies and video games, and anything else that some people find distasteful, including dwarf tossing.

Read admonished his readers to take stock of what they would prohibit others from doing to accurately find their own position "in the ideological line-up." But he also said that "this method can be used to determine anyone's position." Those who would seek to prohibit peaceful activity between consenting adults are in opposition to the freedom philosophy, no matter how much they talk about their commitment to liberty, free markets, and limited government.

It is understandable that the practice of dwarf tossing might offend people afflicted with dwarfism, and I am sympathetic toward them, but no one has the right to not be offended because of his stature – or his weight, deformity, handicap, disability, or nose shape. But I have no sympathy for the sensibilities of those offended by the practice of dwarf tossing -- nanny statists, idealistic do-gooders, bureaucrats, regulators, politicians, and busybodies with nothing better to do than seek to prohibit peaceful activity.
