ANNOUNCEMENTS
An Explosion of Opposition to the Internet Blacklist Bill
On the eve of the House Judiciary Committee's hearing on the Stop Internet Piracy Act, a broad group of tech companies, lawmakers, experts, professors, and rights groups came out against the bill. The statements, written by people from a variety of backgrounds and political persuasions, incorporate many of the same broad themes: SOPA will threaten perfectly legal websites, stifle innovation, kill jobs, and substantially disrupt the infrastructure of the Internet.
What's On the Blacklist? Three Sites That SOPA Could Put at Risk
Proponents of the latest disastrous IP bill, SOPA, insist it only targets the "worst of the worst." But the broad definitions and vague language in the bill could place dangerous tools into the hands of IP rightsholders, with little opportunity for judicial oversight. One very possible outcome is many of the lawful sites you know and love will face new legal threats. Here's a look at three that are at great risk: Vimeo, Etsy, and Flickr.
Sovereign Keys: A Proposal to Make HTTPS and Email More Secure
EFF is introducing a new proposal called "Sovereign Keys," which is intended to systematically fix weaknesses in the way that encrypted Internet protocols perform authentication. The Sovereign Keys design would allow clients and servers to use cryptographic protocols without having to depend on any third parties.

EFF Celebrates the 2011 Pioneer Award Winners
EFF recognized the accomplishments of U.S. Senator Ron Wyden, encryption expert Ian Goldberg, and influential Tunisian blog Nawaat.org at the 20th annual Pioneer Awards Ceremony in San Francisco. EFF established the Pioneer Awards in 1992 to recognize leaders on the electronic frontier who are extending freedom and innovation in the realm of information technology.
Righthaven Case Ends in Victory for Fair Use
The publisher of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Stephens Media, filed papers conceding that posting a short excerpt of a news article in an online forum is not copyright infringement. The concession will result in the entry of a judgment of non-infringement in a long-running copyright troll case that sparked the dismissal of dozens of baseless lawsuits filed by Righthaven LLC.
Hollywood's New War on Software Freedom and Internet Innovation
One of the most under-reported, dangerous consequences of SOPA will be its effect on software developers. Do you write or distribute any kind of VPN, proxy, privacy or anonymization software? If SOPA passes, you might find yourself in a legal fight with the Attorney General.
Who's Missing From The House's SOPA Hearing? A Short List
The House Judiciary Committee hearing on SOPA could have been an opportunity for Americans to hear from a variety of stakeholders, but unfortunately, it devolved into a parade of pro-SOPA partisans. Five witnesses testified about their support of the bill while only one witness, a representative of Google, testified about the bill's many drawbacks. In case you are wondering who the Committee should have been hearing from, here is a small sampling of the stakeholders that deserve a seat at the negotiating table.
EFF Asks Supreme Court to End the FCC's Indecency Regulations
EFF recently submitted an amicus brief to the Supreme Court in FCC v. Fox, which asks the Court to declare unconstitutional the FCC's heavy-handed and outdated indecency policy for broadcast TV. This is not an issue that draws down political lines — both right and left can agree the First Amendment belongs to all mediums. In 2011, there is simply no reason for the court not to give broadcast television the full First Amendment protection provided to the Internet.
The Intelligence Oversight Board Has Members - But We Had to Sue the Government to Find Out
The Intelligence Oversight Board is a presidentially-appointed, independent, civilian oversight board charged with ensuring that intelligence investigations comply with the rule of law, yet until recently, its members were kept secret by the government. In September, EFF sued the Director of National Intelligence for failing to respond to to our Freedom of Information request for the list of members. Here's what we found out.
The DAA's Self-Regulatory Principles Fall Far Short of Do Not Track
The Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA), as association of 6 online advertising groups, published a set of Self-Regulatory Principles for Multi-Site Data. These principles are designed to cover data collection above and beyond the standards the group adopted for behavioral advertising. While the new standards offer the potential to improve transparency and user choice in some instances, the language of the standards is loose enough to allow many of the concerning practices to continue unabated. And, as is often the case with self-regulatory models, the DAA's new standards won't be enforced.
No Room for Free Expression in Egypt
When Hosni Mubarak was ousted from the Egyptian presidency in February, Egypt's revolutionaries saw a new beginning: an Egypt in which individual rights — including the right to free expression — would be respected. Just nine months later, with several prominent bloggers languishing in prison and countless other civilians tried by military courts for protesting, the future looks bleak.
This Week in Internet Censorship: SOPA, UAE Bloggers on Hunger Strike, Chilean Sites Attacked
This week EFF looks at SOPA's effects on the international community; Emirati blogger Ahmed Mansour, who is on a hunger strike in prison; and several news sites in Chile which have been hit with cyber attacks amid ongoing student protests.

The Truth About CAIR: Read it, Memorize it, Broadcast it
Posted on November 25, 2011
by Deny Islam
Let me introduce you to the people who HATE you.
The power structure behind the "Islamic Plague."
You know the organization. Now meet the players.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is undoubtedly the largest, most well-funded and politically adept Muslim organizations in the United States.
They are the proverbial "head of the snake" we call Islam and a majority stakeholder in the spread of this hateful philosophy. Most U.S. citizens who are concerned with the impact of Islam on the American value system have heard of CAIR. But how many of you know the mission behind the name?
Let me introduce you to the people that hate you.
CAIR's public face, not unlike the smiling faces of its Executive Staff pictured in this article, is charming and harmless. Its mission statement reads like a utopian call for kumbaya: "to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding".
I must be a bigotted, intolerant racist to have a problem with CAIR, right? Wrong.
The only intolerance I suffer is that which stems from coordinated campaigns of deceipt, and the unchecked benefit afforded to such orgnizations from an apathetic public that doesn't know any better. The "uniformed public" issue ends now, with this article.
CAIR was founded in June 1994 by three officers of the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP)—Omar Ahmad (IAP President; became CAIR President), Nihad Awad (IAP PR Director; became CAIR Secretary & Treasurer), and Rafeeq Jaber (IAP Chicago Chapter President; became CAIR Vice President). Ibrahim Hooper, who assisted Awad's media efforts, became CAIR's communications director. Two of these "civil rights advocates" can be seen in the pictures of CAIR's Executive Staff I provided with this writing.
Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP) was an Islamist organization that raised money in the United States for Hamas. It described itself as "a not-for-profit, public-awareness, educational, political, social, and civic, national grassroots organization dedicated to advancing a just, comprehensive, and eternal solution to the cause of Palestine and suffrages of the Palestinians."
In December 2004, a federal judge in Chicago ruled that the IAP (along with the Holy Land Foundation) was liable for a $156 million dollar lawsuit for aiding and abetting the terror group Hamas in the death of 17-year-old David Boim, an American citizen. The suit was eventually overturned, but the stain persisted, and the ties to Hamas were never broken.
Senator Charles Schumer (D-New York) describes CAIR as an organization "which we know has ties to terrorism." Senator Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) observes that CAIR is "unusual in its extreme rhetoric and its associations with groups that are suspect." Steven Pomerantz, the FBI's former chief of counterterrorism, notes that "CAIR, its leaders, and its activities effectively give aid to international terrorist groups." The family of John P. O'Neill, Sr., the former FBI counterterrorism chief who perished at the World Trade Center, named CAIR in a lawsuit as having "been part of the criminal conspiracy of radical Islamic terrorism" responsible for the 9/11 atrocities. Counterterrorism expert Steven Emerson calls it "a radical fundamentalist front group for Hamas."
So where is the Department of Homeland Security, the agency sworn to protect American citizens on US soil? Where is the US Congress, who has within its power the ability to shut this terrorist front organization down any time it wishes? They're running scared, and worried about being labeled intolerant, bigotted racists. No surprise there.
But where is the American public … those self-proclaimed patriots who stood against the likes of the KKK, the American Nazi Party and Communist Neo-Liberals? They're running scared also. Now THAT'S a surprise. We're better than that. History proves it.
One of the most telling issues with CAIR is the fact that at least five of its employees and board members have been arrested, convicted, deported, or otherwise linked to terrorism-related charges and activities since 2001. It could be a coincidence, of course, but it's doubtful.
Rabih Haddad, a CAIR fundraiser, was arrested in December 2001 on terrorism-related charges and deported from the United States due to his subsequent work as executive director of the Global Relief Foundation, a charity he cofounded which was designated by the U.S. Treasury Department in October 2002 for financing Al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations.
Randall ("Ismail") Royer, an American convert to Islam, served as CAIR's communications specialist and civil rights coordinator ; today he sits in jail on terrorism-related charges stemming from an arrest in 2003.
Ghassan Elashi, the founder of CAIR's Texas chapter, was convicted in July 2004, with his four brothers, of having illegally shipped computers from their Dallas-area business, InfoCom Corporation, to two designated state-sponsors of terrorism, Libya and Syria. In April 2005 he was convicted again for knowingly doing business with Mousa Abu Marzook, a senior Hamas leader, whom the U.S. State Department had in 1995 declared a "specially designated terrorist."
In 2008 Muthanna Al-Hanooti, the former head of CAIR's Michigan office, was charged with conspiring to work for a foreign government and with making false statements to the FBI. He would travel to Iraq and meet with conspirators of the Iraqi Intelligence Service, and was rewarded with 2 million barrels of oil for his work.
CAIR, by the way, is the same organization orchestrating and funding the Muslim Student Associations that are infesting our college campuses, and creating the next generation of activists (terrorists) who seek to undermine and undo our American way of life. If you have children who are attending a college or university in the United States, they have undoubtedly come into contact with these radical MSA's.
So the challenge I present to YOU, my fellow partiot, is simple.
If a convicted child molester moved into your neighborhood, you would stop at nothing to rid yourself of the menace. If a XXX video porn store wanted to open next to your church or synagogue, you'd stop at nothing to fight it. If the American Nazi Party wanted to speak at your child's high school graduation ceremony, you'd go ballistic.
Where are you regarding CAIR – an extremist Islamic organization with proven ties to terrorist who want to kill you — and the Muslim Student Associations? What are you willing to do to stop this threat to your very existence?
Child molesters, drug labs and the Nazi party are bad; this is worse. It's time for you to get involved, and start backing those groups that are fighting the spread of the "Islamic Plague" on YOUR behalf. Information is the first step. Action is the next.

On Foreign Policy, Ron Paul Is More Mainstream Than His Opponents
By Conor Friedersdorf
Nov 26 2011, 5:44 PM ET
Peggy Noonan took note of the Texas congressman's aversion to war in her latest column. Will other establishment pundits follow?
In Peggy Noonan's latest column, discussed here by my colleague James Fallows, the Wall Street Journal columnist responds to the most recent GOP foreign policy debate by remarking on its bellicosity. "By the end, some of what was said sounded so dramatic that Ron Paul seemed like the normal one," she wrote. "He very much doesn't want new wars or new military actions. This is not an unreasonable desire!"
It's good to see an establishment columnist coming around to Paul's foreign-policy thinking, even if it's hedged in the condescending frame of they're so crazy they make even Ron Paul sound reasonable. Perhaps she'll go even farther in a future column if presented with evidence that Paul doesn't just "seem" like a normal candidate on foreign affairs, he is a normal candidate.
(In contrast, his domestic views are abnormal when compared to the American public's.)
Remember when Paul belonged to the minority in Congress that opposed the Iraq War? Now, 62 percent of Americans say fighting the Iraq war was a mistake. You know the Republicans who criticized President Obama for presiding over the end of America's military presence in Iraq? Well, like Paul (and unlike Obama) 78 percent of Americans support full withdrawal. And in Afghanistan, another country that Paul wants to leave, two thirds of Americans want to see troop levels reduced. "Just one in three Americans believe fighting there is the right thing for the U.S. to do," CBS News found, "while 57 percent think the U.S. should not be involved in Afghanistan."
Like Ron Paul, Americans are also overwhelmingly against bombing Iran's nuclear infrastructure. And although I'll bet he wants to cut the Pentagon budget more than the average American does, a majority of the public prefers defense cuts to other kinds, and as Rasmussen found earlier this year, "Nearly one-half of Americans now think the United States can make major cuts in defense spending without putting the country in danger. They believe even more strongly that there's no risk in cutting way back on what America spends to defend other countries."
Comparing Paul's positions to those of either the American people or foreign-affairs experts in the State Department and academia, it is clear that his views are closer to normal than most of his Republican opponents' (that is to say, closer to normal than everyone but Jon Huntsman). On the biggest, most consequential foreign policy issues, he is averse to war, as are his countrymen. It is only when they are compared to the views of the Washington establishment, where the Washington Post op-ed page, the Weekly Standard, and the American Enterprise Institute are regarded as mainstream institutions, that Paul's foreign-policy views seem like the abnormal ones.
Of course, as the Iraq war showed, American public opinion can be turned in favor of military intervention, even if our national security isn't threatened. But a lot of faulty intelligence and false propaganda is required to do so. Forced to confront the full reality of our presence and actions in the world, the average American would be horrified by how closely we resemble an empire.
The average presidential candidate would consider it normal.

Christian worker loses her job after being 'targeted' by Islamic extremists
A Christian worker has launched a landmark legal action after she lost her job when she blew the whistle on what she says was a campaign of "race hate" by fundmentalist Muslims.
By Jonathan Wynne-Jones, Religious Affairs Correspondent
7:30AM GMT 27 Nov 2011
Nohad Halawi, who worked at Heathrow Airport, is suing her former employers for unfair dismissal, claiming that she and other Christian staff at the airport were victims of systematic harassment because of their religion.
She claims that she was told that she would go to Hell for her religion, that Jews were responsible for the September 11th terror attacks, and that a friend was reduced to tears having been bullied for wearing a cross.
Mrs Halawi, who came to Britain from Lebanon in 1977, worked in the duty-free section as a perfume saleswoman of the airport for 13 years but was dismissed in July.
Her case is being supported by the Christian Legal Centre, who say it raises important legal issues and also questions over whether Muslims and Christians are treated differently by employers.
It comes amid growing concern among some Christians that their faith is being marginalised and follows calls from Lord Carey, the former Archbishop of Canterbury, for Christians to be given greater legal protection in the wake of a series of cases where they have been disciplined or dismissed for practising their faith.
It also raises further questions over race relations at Heathrow Airport.
Last week, Arieh Zucker, a Jewish businessman, complained that he has been repeatedly singled out for full-body scans by Muslim security staff at the airport.
The 41-year-old mortgage broker from London has accused them of "race hate" and is threatening to sue for racial discrimination after being made to "feel like a criminal" while being scanned.
Mrs Halawi's case centres on whether she was treated unfairly when she lost her job in World Duty Free in Terminal 3 after she spoke out over what she described as bullying and intimidation by her Muslim colleagues of her and other Christians.
She said that she was the subject of a complaint by an Islamic colleague which was specious and that when she raised her own concerns as a Christian, she was the one who was dismissed.
Now she is distraught at losing her job on allegations made by what she describes as a small group of "extremist" Muslims.
Mrs Halawi, 47, said: "I have been sacked on the basis of unsubstantiated complaints so there is now great fear amongst my former colleagues that the same could happen to them if one of the Muslims turns on them.
"This is supposed to be a Christian country, but the law seems to be on the side of the Muslims."
A mother of two, she says that she had always got on well with her Muslim colleagues and relations between staff of different faiths had been good in the past, but that the atmosphere became increasingly uncomfortable with a growing number of employees espousing "fundamentalist Islam".
She says they harassed Christians at work by making fun of them for wearing crosses, ridiculing Jesus and telling them they would go to Hell if they did not convert to Islam.
"One man brought in the Koran to work and insisted I read it and another brought in Islamic leaflets and handed them out to other employees," she said.
"They said that 9/11 served the Americans right and that they hated the West, but that they had come here because they want to convert people to Islam.
"They say that Jesus is s***** [shitty] and bullied a Christian friend of mine so much for wearing her crosses that she came to me crying."
Mrs Halawi says she was targeted by the fundamentalists after she stood up for her friend, who is 62 and who she is keeping anonymous because she still works at the terminal.
In May, five of her Muslim colleagues complained to David Tunnicliffe, the trading manager at World Duty Free, accusing her of being anti-Islamic following a heated conversation in the store.
The row had stemmed from her description of a Muslim colleague as an allawhi, which means 'man of God' in Arabic. Another Muslim overheard this and thought she said Alawi, which was his branch of Islam.
Following the complaints she was suspended immediately, but was not told the grounds for her suspension until she met Mr Tunnicliffe in July.
Two days after the meeting she received a letter, which said the "store approval" - the Heathrow security pass - needed to work at World Duty Free was being removed because her behaviour was deemed to be unacceptable.
"I believe that the breakdown in relationship between yourself and some of your colleagues has contributed to this situation and has led to a number of inappropriate conversations taking place," the letter said.
"Whilst I do not believe that you may have meant to be offensive, I believe that it was not unreasonable for the individuals who either heard these comments, or who they were directed at to find them offensive, and they are extremely inappropriate."
However, the only comments she made which Mr Tunnicliffe claimed were offensive relate to her accusing a Muslim colleague of having "extremist leaflets" and asking another Muslim why Jesus was being described as "s*****".
She was paid on a freelance basis by Caroline South Associates, a fragrance and cosmetics agency that provides staff to work in World Duty Free, and was told that she would not be able to continue working without her pass.
A petition signed by 28 colleagues, some of them Muslims, argued that she has been dismissed on the basis of "malicious lies", but failed to see her reinstated.
Andrea Minichiello Williams, founder and director of the Christian Legal Centre, said that the case is one of the most serious they have handled.
"It raises huge issues," she said.
"First, there is the level of Islamic fundamentalism prevalent at our main point of entry to the UK.
"Then there are very real issues of religious discrimination, which it would appear those in authority are turning a blind eye to, using the current loop-holes in employment law as an excuse."
The centre has instructed Paul Diamond, a leading human rights barrister, to represent Mrs Halawi in taking both Caroline South Associates and Autogrill Retail UK Limited, which trades as World Duty Free, to an employment tribunal.
They hope that the case will set a precedent for thousands of people like Mrs Halaoui who would appear to be employees from the working relationship, but actually have no rights because of their self-employed status.
A lawyer acting for CSA said: "The case is still pending so the company is not in a position to comment, but as far as the company is concerned she's never been an employee and has never been dismissed."
A spokesman for World Duty Free said they were unable to comment because the matter is subject to "ongoing legal proceedings".

Also the war in Iraq and the war in Afghanistan.Wow. Ron Paul does not believe that the USA should have a secret police, state-sponsored killings, state-run elections, and invasions of hapless countries. It's full of essays, mostly about things Paul disapproves of, from abortion to Zionism."It is a smear to put "Zionism" in the sentence the way she has constructed it, as Dr. Paul is favorable to Zionism in the book she references. It smacks of a propaganda trick.

Virginia has a history that caused her to become the mother of FF presidents.
That history still shows within the extraordinary beauty of Virginia's constitution and statutes.
Virginia's law is still enables her to save the constitutional republic of the United States if she will first save herself from the custom of cavalier conceits of authority whose toxic culture came to the 'Old Dominion' with refugees from the English Civil War.
Virginia appears to be the only state that has a law equivalent to VA18.2-481(5) where 'Resisting the execution of the laws under the color of its authority' is defined as 'Statutory Treason'.
In 1619 slavery had no lawful basis under the English common law written upon the hearts of its people – Slavery in Virginia started as no more than the cavalier criminal conceit of 'Our law will not protect you – as far as you are concerned I am the law'. That purely criminal evil is still with us and is conclusively evidenced by EVERY officer of our courts – Yet, if confronted and pardoned by our Governor upon the penitent virtue of toothy parole oath that evil can be removed from Virginia's future.
Yes, and even our country's future because every Virginia federal judge is still a member of the Virginia Bar , still an officer of the courts of Virginia, and so deemed by the presumptions of Virginia law to professionally know the law so that they must recognize VA18.2-481(5) felony when it occurs and so are conclusively evidenced as having at LEAST criminally perpetrated felony VA18.2-482 'Misprision of Treason'.
ALL such officers must plead for pardon or eventually be condemned by our law – under God – that requires that ALL felony, and conditions that foster felony, be presented to a grand jury until the felony is properly judged. Our Governor's pardon is the best and only way out of the felony condemnation due every lawyer and judge in Virginia, INCLUDING Virginia's federal judges!
'Constitution Reset' naturally cascading from Virginia can gently and gracefully save our country.
The Question that remains is 'Does Virginia still have the heart to raise leaders ready to face God?'
All prayer warriors, please remember us. May we become fit to serve God & Country as our law requires.

The jewish god of the old testament is arguably the most unpleasant
character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust,
unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser;
a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal,
filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously
malevolent bully. - Richard Dawkins
